BODY LIFT

Body Lift is a surgical procedure that remodels and "lifts" the lower part of the body, including the abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks. Excess skin is removed and underlying tissues are recovered. It is essentially the classic process of abdominoplasty, which is associated with the recovery of the buttocks and thighs on their outer surface. This surgical procedure has been shown to be a sign of great weight loss, either on a diet or after surgery, such as a gastric bypass. It is aimed at individuals, men or women who have a large excess of skin in the abdomen but also the buttocks.

What should be done pre operatively Once the plastic surgeon has received a complete history of the patient concerned, he / she has to fully inform the patient about the procedure and to take photos of the area surgeon. Then follow these instructions:1. Classic preoperative control.2. 12 hours before the surgery we do not eat anything and 6 hours before the surgery do not drink anything.3. On the morning of surgery, we do not receive any medication before the anesthesiologist agrees.4. Smoking and alcohol should be discontinued at least 3 weeks before surgery.5. Meeting with the anesthesiologist before surgery. The anesthesiologist reports past anesthesia experiences, whether positive or negative, and informs him of any health problems or medication we receive.6. We do not take aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs or herbal supplements 10 days before surgery, because they all increase the chance of bleeding during and after surgery.7. 3 days before the surgery and every day we wash our body with pharmaceutical soap. Type of anesthesia The above procedure is performed with general anesthesia.

Surgical technique The surgeon starts with the patient in a supine position. Initially, abdominoplasty is performed. The above procedure involves the removal of excess abdominal skin with the help of a low section and hidden in the undergarment. Subsequently, a plastic supplementation of the abdominal muscles is performed. The surgical procedure is continued in a prone position and a section is made around the trunk by removing excess skin from the buttocks and the outer surface of the thighs. The goal is to undergo surgery and the recovery of the thighs and buttocks. The duration of the surgery is usually 5-7 hours, depending on the incident.

Post-operative instructions • After surgery, the patient wears a flexible form for about six weeks.• Place 4-6 drains, small tubes that come out of the skin in order to avoid the build up of fluid under the incision. All of these tubes are gradually removed until the third postoperative day.• Painkillers and antibiotics are administered postoperatively.• Return to work and simple day-to-day activities can be done after 4 weeks.• Immediate postoperative mobilization is recommended in combination with anticoagulation.• Physical exercise can be started gradually after the 6th postoperative week.• The final result of scarring becomes apparent one year postoperatively.• It is recommended to stop smoking for 6 weeks postoperatively.• One year after surgery, the result is assessed and, if necessary, small corrections are performed with local anesthesia.   Result The result is immediately apparent after surgery. The abdomen is flat and at the same time the thighs and buttocks are raised. The swelling will begin to subsided after the 6th week and the final effect is fully understood at one year postoperatively. Proper nutrition and physical exercise will enhance the final picture.

Complications The possible complications of the operation are as follows: Hematoma: it is avoided by proper surgical technique and patient compliance in post-operative guidelines. Bruises are very often a natural consequence of the surgery and gradually decline.Pulmonary embolism: it can be avoided by direct mobilization of the patient as well as by anticoagulation.Inflammation: it is a complication that is nullified by the right conditions of the surgery, but also by the administration of antibiotics during surgery.
